The inaugural Waco Family & Faith International Film Festival is "dedicated to empowering the creative spirit, serving with heart & celebrating all!” In 2020, the Waco Family & Faith International Film Festival will leverage the power of cinema and storytelling to bring the Waco community, and more, together to celebrate our shared humanity. This two day event will feature competition films, Hollywood studio releases presented at the Hippodrome Theater, "Film & Faith Soul Sessions" at area places of worship, and professional workshops presented at the Hankamer School of Business at Baylor University. Waco community performances by area choirs and other artists will complement the event.
Please check back here by December 15, 2019 for our complete festival schedule.
Congratulations to Sam and Kevin Sorbo (Miracle in East Texas) and to Gina Neely (The Food Network) for being our 2020 Champions Award recipients for the Waco Family & Faith International Film Festival.
This annual award is dedicated to recognizing persons and organizations who are exemplars of innovation as well as good disruption in the film, TV and entertainment industry.
The Waco Family & Faith International Film Festival is an event with a different kind of vibe. Our team consists of handpicked creatives, community leaders, educators, and business professionals that believe in equitable storytelling that represents all of us and celebrates our shared humanity. We have been brought together by a shared passion for the power of film and the arts to open hearts and minds, a love for the creative process, innovation, and excellence. That is why the mission for the Waco Family & Faith International Film Festival is that it is “dedicated to EMPOWERING the creative spirit, SERVING with heart, and CELEBRATING all!”
We are a 501 (c) (3) charitable organization that honors the memory of Gloria J. Lindsey. Mrs. Lindsey was an elementary school educator for over 40 years. She loved to empower her students to be their best in life as well as had an enormous passion for education and the arts. In her honor, the Waco Family & Faith International Film Festival passionately supports educational and artistic programs for children and young adults.
“Any form of art is a form of power;
it has impact, it can affect change-
It can not only move us, it makes us move!”
-Ossie Davis, Award-winning Actor of TV, Stage, and Film
This is only the beginning of our story. Ultimately, we hope to be able to make a global impact and
change the face of storytelling and the storytellers in the film and entertainment industry. We also hope
with this festival, we can bring people together from all walks of life and serve them with narratives,
community performances, educational workshops, and more, that provoke thought, empower
continued dialogue, and feed the soul.
We thank you for supporting the inaugural Waco Family & Faith International Film Festival!
See you at the movies!
